The philosophy behind the presentations
Flipped classroom
The course is based on new pedagogical ideas often referred to as the “flipped classroom”. This means that it is not the teacher who lectures students by answering questions that nobody has asked, but instead the students presenting what they think are most interesting and the students asking questions about what they want to learn.
Each student prepares questions before the lectures and seminars who have a focus on discussing the answers to the questions in public.
Some of the advantages with this approach is that:
- Students can secure that the course content is relevant to their needs
- Teachers can concentrate on the parts that needs to be explained
- Students are active in their learning processes
- Students learn presentation skills
