Criteria for the presentations

Each student must present at least two stories together with questions about how the problem in the stories can be solved.

Each student is obliged to select two question areas. For each question area the student shall present an educating story which  has the following main parts: 1) The background, introduction and problems to be solved, 2) At least two specific questions related to the problems, 3) An open discussion with the rest of the class about probable solutions/answers to the two questions, 4) The presenting student’s argumentation for her solutions to the problems, 5) Examples that illustrate why or how the solutions shall be carried out.

The problem described should be difficult enough to secure that the other students cannot easily find the solution to the problem without understanding the theories presented during the  course. This criteria is defined to secure that students find the discussions to be rewarding.

Apart from the generic criteria stated above the stories and examples should preferably satisfy at least 2 of the following 3 criteria:

  1. The stories and/or examples  should be taken from some professional area or describe phenomena that describe systemic relationships
  2. They should describe how the problem and solution can be related to problems with complexity
  3. They should describe how the problem and solution to the problem affect the organization

Evaluation of your presentation

You will be evaluated according to how well you can present the theories studied during the course.

You will also be evaluated according to your generic presentation skills in order for you to gain experience of this very important feature of leadership. As these evaluations are very subjective they will not affect the grade you get on the course. They are carried out to support the students in creating useful presentations and they are only carried out in cooperation with the student, i.e. if a student does not want to get public feedback on his/her presentation skills the student can chose to not get public feedback by informing the teacher of this in advance.
