Learning objectives

1: The student will understand and be able to explain how organizations can be improved by systems thinking and how a manager can get a better holistic view of the organization. The focus is on how the relationships between all parts of the organization can be systematized into a whole.

2: The student will be able to combine models and methods from various sources / disciplines and from these combinations create simplified descriptions of a complex organizational context.

3: The student should be able to compile, generalize and describe the processes of an organization in a clear, systematic and orderly manner so that the process descriptions can be reused by the organization’s management. As businesses change and since the complexity of the business problems are large, it is essential that students learn to independently and creatively find solutions to the problems.
